Residency Information
There comes a point in every creative project when what you need most is time.
At Camont, we believe that creativity flourishes in quiet places. Here, the days are unhurried. The fertile farming landscape invites reflection. Conversation is thoughtful but never obligatory. Whether you are writing a novel, developing a new series of paintings, composing music or pursuing independent research, Camont offers the rare opportunity to step away from everyday demands and immerse yourself in your work in a magical environment.
We welcome three self-funded residents each session—two writers and one visual artist. There are no deadlines, no expectations of finished work, and no prescribed program, only the time and space to discover where your work wants to lead. This is your time. Unfettered time to work, rethink, and produce without the competition of grants and constraints of chosen dates. Time to think without interruption. Time to make mistakes. Time to begin again.
Self-Funded Residency Rates
2027 Two Week Residencies are 1950€, based on 14 days/13 nights.
A self-funded residency allows you to work at your own pace, on your chosen projects, while sharing common social space and time in the kitchen, salon, studio, and gardens with other residents.
Self-funded residency fees which cover housing and basic amenities may be applied for by outside grants (we are happy to provide you with any letters as needed). Residents cook for themselves and eat when and as they please. Residencies are for a minimum of two weeks; longer residencies are available on request and as availability allows.
Rates includes a comfortable air-conditioned (new in 2027), private bedroom/studio with writing desk and a private, ensuite bathroom. Artist studio is adjacent to the l’Atelier bedroom. Shared living spaces include a well-equipped kitchen, cozy reading salon, one-acre garden. High-speed WiFi is available for easy communication throughout Camont.

Anna Dibble- April 026 L’Atelier
“I’m a landscape painter, currently living in Maine, USA, where my work is represented by four galleries, and one in Holyoke, Massachusetts. I’ve taken two spring residencies at Camont, the latest one this past April. For a visual artist (and I imagine this applies to writers, composers, designers) there is something extra-ordinary about this enchanting place. ”
