Our Resident Family

Meet some of the many residents who have created and worked at Camont over the years.

My two weeks at Relais de Camont provided the perfect place and interlude for me to complete my new novel. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Kate and two other residents and the comfort of my lovely bedroom overlooking Kate’s magnificent gardens and the delicious food we cooked up all together in her farmhouse kitchen. Mostly, what I remember, is the sense of balance and wellbeing that I experienced in this calm, creative, productive environment.

Meet Camont’s Alumni

That trip is what got me to book Kate Hill’s writing retreat in the south of France in February 2025. I spent two weeks there and wrote 30,000 words in 10 days. I gave myself a schedule and stuck to it: write from nine to noon, break for lunch and a walk, write again from one to four, then around five, open a bottle of really nice three-euro Bordeaux wine and handle whatever the rest of my work life needed that day. It was the first time in this whole process that writing felt less like an obstacle and more like a rhythm I could live inside.
